This Cookie Policy explains how Zumee ("we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on our website and application (the "Service"), and how you can control them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal data more generally.
By "cookies and similar technologies" we mean small files and identifiers — including browser cookies and local storage — that a site can store on, or read from, your device.
We use these technologies for two reasons: to make the Service work, and to understand how it is used so we can improve it. Some are essential and load automatically; others run only if you agree to them.
Strictly necessary (essential). These are needed for the Service to function and cannot be switched off. They include keeping your anonymous session and your CV draft together while you build it, signing you in through your access link, keeping the Service secure, supporting payment and fraud-prevention through Stripe, and remembering the cookie choices you make on the banner. Because these are strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for, they do not require your consent.
Analytics and performance. These help us see how the Service is used — which steps people complete, where they drop off, what to improve — so we can make Zumee better. We use Google Analytics and PostHog for this. These are not essential, so we set them only if you agree through our cookie banner. You can change your mind at any time.
We do not currently use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.
Stripe handles our payments. It may set cookies needed to process transactions securely and to detect and prevent fraud. These are treated as essential to providing the payment service. See Stripe's privacy information at [stripe.com/privacy].
Google Analytics helps us measure usage. It typically sets cookies such as _ga and _ga_<id> to distinguish visitors and sessions. It runs only with your consent. See Google's information at [policies.google.com/privacy].
PostHog helps us understand product usage and improve the experience. It typically sets a cookie such as ph_<id> and stores a visitor identifier. It runs only with your consent. See PostHog's information at [posthog.com/privacy].
When you first visit the Service, our cookie banner lets you accept or reject non-essential cookies, and gives you the option to set your preferences. Essential cookies are always active because the Service cannot run without them.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the "Cookie settings" link [location, e.g. in the footer], which reopens the preferences panel.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings — for example to block or delete them. Note that blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the Service from working. Most browsers explain how to do this in their help pages.
Some cookies last only for your current visit ("session" cookies) and disappear when you close your browser. Others ("persistent" cookies) stay for a set period so the site can remember you or your preferences on your next visit — for example, your cookie choice is remembered for a period so we do not ask you again every time. Analytics cookies have their own durations set by the tools above.
We may update this Cookie Policy when we add or remove tools, or when the law changes. We will post the updated version with a new "last updated" date, and where the change is significant we will ask for your consent again.
